2025 LMCA Summer Youth Program

Our LMCA summer youth program consists of hiring 10-15 students ages 14-18. The program will run for four days each week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The four weeks in Riviera will be spent learning construction skills & crafts. They students will also spend a week at the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend. At CTC they will be learning about careers in commercial and industrial crafts. The students will learn basic safety, introduction to construction math, hand tools, and power tools. Student will also have some hands-on and or simulation experiences in welding, pipefitting, instrumentation, scaffold-building, industrial painting, electrical, plumbing, and mobile cranes. Each of the craft activities is also tied to careers for college graduates such as engineering, safety, human resources, and construction management. This entire program is under the direction of Los Mesteños Career Academy and is taught by a knowledgeable teacher. The students will construct structures such as picnic tables, benches and other wooden furniture. Projects will be placed in public areas locally in Riviera to help beautify the community.
